Grant Sahag👷 Building stronger communities by empowering small businesses

I’m a resident of Hudson County, NJ and am currently building education tools and advising small businesses at SMB XYZ [small businesses do it all, even XYZ].  This website coming soon!

I recently served (April 2018 to November 2024) as the EVP Operations of Novo, one of the largest banking tools for small business in the US.  I run CONNECT, an education platform connecting government, entrepreneurs, corporates, and social enterprise and leveraging entrepreneurship to bolster local economies.  The events have brought together up to 1,000 people per year, and it has worked with cities like Hoboken on technology incubation and economic development (e.g. Launch Hoboken; Hoboken Business Alliance; Launchpad at Stevens Institute).  I also serve as a mentor for startups through accelerators like WEVE/Quay and as the Treasurer of the Hoboken Relief Fund, providing funding to small businesses in crisis.

From March 2010 to December 2016, I helped build start-up GlyEco from pre-revenue to a publicly-traded company, serving in many roles including CEO.  I previously provided legal and business advisory services to emerging growth, mid-market, and non-profits.

I received a Juris Doctor from Arizona State University, specializing in business law and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Arizona, majoring in finance and entrepreneurship.

In my free time, I like to explore neighborhoods (coffee, food, vibes).  I love to learn new things (design, tech, psychology, economic development).  And I used to be a big pickleball player (maybe I'll go back!)
